Annie Smits Sandano - more than just a print maker
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Annie has since lived in New Zealand, Italy and the UK. Having completed her Fine Arts education at Elam School of Fine Arts with Honours and the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA, she has since exhibited in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the USA.
Annie started out as a printmaker, embossing her own papers and creating limited edition woodcuts, etchings and screenprints. Over the years her practice has expanded to include mixed media prints, original paintings and now ceramics.
A brand new collection of hand built ceramic vessels has just arrived in to the gallery and we couldn't be happier to showcase them!
These slab built New Zealand made ceramics are made from stoneware and glazed in a pure white. Coloured and textured aggregate is then applied to create the final pattern. All pieces are one-off artworks.
Annies ceramics sell out in her London gallery and are set to do the same here.
