BIO

Robyn Fleet is a contemporary Hawkes Bay artist whose practice is rooted in oil painting and the expressive potential of materiality. After spending 14 years living in Sydney and London, Robyn returned to Hawke’s Bay, where she continues to develop her artistic career. She holds a Bachelor of Art and Design and has exhibited in public galleries across New Zealand since 2013.

Robyn’s work explores the complexities of the human condition through tactile and open-ended processes. Her approach invites reflection on identity, perception, and empathy, echoing Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of a world where character transcends skin color. She is particularly drawn to the physicality of paint, using oil sticks and oils to evoke emotional and sensory responses.
