BIO

About Lauren Hunt

Lauren Hunt is an accomplished artist and educator with over 17 years’ experience in glassblowing. Her passion for the medium began at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts. After graduating, she began her career at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, developing her skills through the Hot Glass Show and the innovative Blow Glass at Sea programme, presenting and demonstrating her craft to audiences around the world.

Years of travel have shaped Lauren’s artistic vision, with changing landscapes and diverse cultures informing her approach to colour and form. Her work brings artistry and precision together in thoughtfully balanced, meticulously crafted pieces.

In the United States, Lauren has taught and created at respected institutions including the Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft and The Lost Pines Art Center. Since relocating to New Zealand, she has taught at Amokura Glass in Rotorua and Monmouth Glass Studio in Auckland.

Now based in Auckland, Lauren works as a glass fabricator and contributes to the glass art community as an instructor, studio assistant and Secretary of NZSAG. She also creates work for galleries throughout New Zealand.
