We're delighted to present The Observer Observing, an upcoming Pocket Exhibition by Hawkes Bay artist Robyn Fleet.

In this new body of work, Robyn explores themes of perception, solitude, memory and the inner landscape through a series of atmospheric contemporary paintings. Known for her quiet, contemplative approach, Robyn creates works that invite viewers to slow down and engage with moments of stillness and reflection.

Through faceless figures, shifting cloudscapes, trees, animals and softened forms, Robyn examines the act of witnessing, both the world around us and the self within. Her paintings move between memory and presence, where subjects emerge and dissolve through restrained colour, atmosphere and gesture.

A dog lifting its head, a solitary tree, a passing cloud or an anonymous figure becomes a point of focus in Robyn's work. These subtle observations transform everyday subjects into evocative reflections on connection, identity and human experience.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, The Observer Observing invites personal interpretation. Robyn's paintings occupy the space between observation and emotion, asking what it means to quietly exist, notice and be seen.

This Pocket Exhibition highlights Robyns distinctive contemporary art practice and offers an intimate opportunity to experience her latest paintings.
