In this body of work animals and humans share the same quiet breath in dreamlike settings. Kirsten Lovelock explores the liminal space where instinct and empathy intertwine, inviting the viewer into a realm where meaning is felt before it is understood, where the creatures, human or animal carry a fragment of a dream’s deeper message.

The animals, sometimes companions, sometimes symbolic echoes of inner states. The paintings carry the sensation of a dream you half-remember, tender luminous, and just beyond the reach of waking logic.

Each painting explores the relationship between humans and animals, with human presence sometimes implied rather than seen. Open to interpretation, the works invite viewers to find their own meaning within themes of dream states, connection, familiarity, and quiet reflection. Created across late 2025 and early 2026, the series captures moments that feel both intimate and otherworldly.
