A Pocket Exhibition offers a focused presentation of up to 15 works within a dedicated section of the gallery. Occupying up to half the space (or more intimate, depending on scale), this format allows for a cohesive body of work to be experienced in depth without the scale and pace of a full-gallery exhibition.

Rather than encountering isolated works across multiple exhibitions, Pocket Exhibitions present a distilled chapter of an artist’s thinking. The works speak to one another. Themes unfold more clearly. Subtle shifts in palette, material, or subject become visible.

It's all about engaging with a meaningful moment in an artist’s practice.

We have been proud to begin the series with Aida Smith and her new body of work, Home.land. This collection explores how the places we inhabit shape who we become. Drawing on scenes from across Aotearoa New Zealand. Smith’s restrained palette and soft handling create works that move between the spectacular and the intimate, offering collectors a deeply reflective and cohesive presentation.

As we speak, Laurette is deep in her studio to prepare for her Pocket Exhibition in May, presenting a focused body of her portraits.

Coming up in June is also Kirsten Lovelock, we cant wait to see what worlds and characters she brings to our walls.

Each Pocket Exhibition opens with an intimate gathering alongside the artist, providing audiences with direct insight into process, intention, and future direction.

While the featured exhibition occupies a dedicated space, the remainder of the gallery continues to present a curated selection from our wider stable of artists.

We look forward to welcoming you to the opening of this new series and to sharing these considered presentations with our collecting community.
