Majestical, a Solo Show by Rachel Rush 2022
Rachel Rush's solo exhibition Majestical showcased a new body of work inspired by the vibrant colours of spring. Soft pastel hues interspersed with luxe metallics formed the backdrop for this exceptional collection.
Twelve works were on show, from small works to statement pieces. Metallic paints featured throughout, silvers, golds and coppers expertly poured or sprayed onto canvas with joyful colours, creating areas rich with texture. With each piece hand tinted and poured, the process was slow and considered: a colour was carefully applied before curing for 24 hours before the next was added, with some artworks taking weeks to complete.
Rachel was present at the opening and joined us the following Saturday morning as part of our Meet The Artist series.
The show ran from 21 October – 7 November at our Herne Bay gallery.
