TOM ARMSTRONG | Painting Showcase | 2 - 10 September 2025

Tom Armstrong has painted for more than 30 years. Based in Hawke’s Bay, he prefers to let the work do the talking. “I paint what I see,” he says, quoting Picasso: “Painting is a blind man’s profession.” His vivid, idiosyncratic paintings draw on a rich and unusual mix of art history, literature, personal memory and pop culture.
